AI Automation Engineer

Cambio Automation builds the system owner-led service firms work in. It answers the phone after hours, drafts the replies, files the documents, chases the invoices. You build it: the agents inside it, the tools they use, and the screens the client’s team works in.

• Build agents and agent teams: the job, the tools, the memory, the limits, the hand-offs between them.
• Build the harness around them: MCP servers, tool integrations with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, telephony and industry software, permissions, evals and monitoring.
• Build the dashboards and screens a non-technical team understands in five seconds.
• Pick and swap models per task, evaluate them on the client’s real cases, fine-tune where it pays.
• Deploy for new clients with our delivery lead, and turn what you built once into something the next client gets out of the box.
• Prepare working demos for prospective clients.

• High agency, before anything else. You have shipped things nobody asked you to build. Show us one.
• You build with AI, with whatever works best this month, and you can read, debug and explain what it produces.
• You are on top of what is happening in AI: models, frameworks, MCP, evals. Not from headlines, from using it.
• Working basics: Python or TypeScript, SQL, APIs, git. One to three years of experience, or the self-taught equivalent.
• You communicate clearly with people who are not technical. Fluent written and spoken English.
• German is a strong plus. Spanish is a plus.

A computer science degree. Senior experience. A perfect CV. We judge on what you have built and on a paid trial task.

• You need a detailed specification before you start.
• You would rather not talk to clients.
• You want a large engineering team and a settled process.

You work on a platform with fixed rules for permissions, data handling and what an agent may do on its own. Those rules are not optional, and they are the reason our clients trust us with their operations. Inside them you have a lot of freedom.

• Full-time. Anywhere between US Central Time and Central European Time: Spain, Latin America, or elsewhere in those time zones. Spain is a plus, because we can work in person.
• In Spain: an employment contract with Cambio Automation SL. Elsewhere: an employer-of-record or contractor agreement.
• Start: 1 December 2026, or as soon as possible after.
